I'm Lyn, the founder of Coastal Local, and I am passionate about bringing the wonder of San Diego's shorelines to life! I am an alumna of Western Washington University, holding a B.S. in Marine and Coastal Sciences. My goal is to change how people perceive the environment around them and protect marine ecosystems.

My background combines rigorous scientific study, including research in marine biology and oceanography, with practical teaching experience. I am an experienced outdoor curriculum designer and teacher of marine biology, specializing in delivering engaging, hands-on lessons on marine life, tide pools, and conservation for grades 1-8.

I believe the most meaningful learning is rooted in a sense of awe and curiosity.
